color bleed
Pigment crossing boundaries
Color bleed is the unwanted spreading of one color into adjacent areas.
In laundry, a red sock bleeds onto white shirts.
In printing or digital images, colors may bleed past their intended boundaries, creating fuzzy edges.
The term also applies to video signals where color information from one area contaminates another: The cheap cable caused noticeable color bleed around text.
