cold wash
Low-temperature laundering
A cold wash is a laundry cycle using unheated water, typically chosen to prevent shrinking or color bleeding in delicate fabrics: I put the sweater on a cold wash.
Cold washing also saves energy.
The term can refer to the machine setting or the washing event itself.
