cold booting
Starting from off
Cold booting is starting a computer from a completely powered-off state, as opposed to restarting while already running (warm booting).
The term comes from the machine being "cold"—no electricity flowing, no processes active.
A cold boot clears all memory and reinitializes hardware: Have you tried cold booting it?
