coachwhips
Slender American serpents
Coachwhips are slender, fast-moving snakes native to North America, named for their resemblance to braided leather whips.
They can exceed six feet in length and are known for speed rather than venom, often fleeing when encountered.
Folk legend claims they chase and whip people, but this is myth.
We spotted a coachwhip crossing the road.
