Burmese pythons
Florida's giant snakes
Burmese pythons are large constricting snakes native to Southeast Asia, among the biggest snake species in the world.
They can exceed twenty feet in length and weigh over two hundred pounds.
In the Florida Everglades, released or escaped pets have established an invasive population that has devastated native wildlife: Burmese pythons have eaten their way through the mammal population.
