co-curricular

Outside main lessons

Co-curricular describes activities that complement or extend the academic curriculum without being part of it.

Unlike extracurricular activities, which are wholly separate from coursework, co-curricular programs connect to what students learn in class: The debate club is co-curricular, reinforcing skills from rhetoric class.

The term appears mainly in educational contexts.
