clothes iron
Hot fabric smoother
A clothes iron is a handheld appliance with a flat metal base that heats up to smooth wrinkles from fabric.
You press the hot surface against clothing or linens, and the combination of heat and pressure relaxes the fibers.
Most irons have steam vents to help with stubborn creases: I need to iron this shirt before the interview.
Often shortened to just iron.
