clogmakers

Dutch footwear artisans

Clogmakers are craftspeople who make clogs—wooden-soled shoes traditionally worn by workers in northern Europe.

The trade was once common in industrial regions of England and the Netherlands, where clogs protected feet in mills and mines.

Few clogmakers remain today, as the footwear has largely disappeared from daily use.
