clip shows
Recycled footage compilations
Clip shows are television episodes composed largely of footage from previous episodes, typically framed by new scenes where characters reminisce or reflect.
They serve as budget-saving measures and recap devices: The season finale was just a lazy clip show.
The format has become shorthand for low-effort content that recycles existing material.
