clip show
Recycled footage compilation
A clip show is a television episode composed largely of scenes from previous episodes, typically framed by a thin new storyline where characters reminisce or recount past events.
Clip shows were once common as budget-saving measures, allowing networks to fill a timeslot cheaply.
The format is now widely mocked as lazy: Great, another clip show.
