clearout
Emptying the space
A clearout is the act of removing unwanted items from a space, typically a room, closet, or building: We're having a clearout of the garage this weekend.
The term is more common in British than American English.
A clearout can also refer to a removal of people—staff dismissed or tenants evicted: The new management conducted a clearout of the old guard.
