clay bar
Surface contaminant remover
A clay bar is a malleable block of synthetic or natural clay used in automotive detailing to remove bonded contaminants from paint, glass, and metal surfaces.
The bar picks up embedded particles that washing alone can't remove—industrial fallout, tree sap residue, brake dust, overspray.
You glide the lubricated bar across the surface, and it pulls contaminants free: After claying, the paint felt smooth as glass.
