clear bra
Hood shield film
A clear bra is a transparent protective film applied to a car's painted surfaces—typically the hood, bumper, and fenders—to shield against rock chips, scratches, and road debris.
The name comes from its function as protective covering, like a bra for the vehicle's front end.
Also called paint protection film or PPF: I had a clear bra installed before the road trip.
