classic gaming
Old-school video entertainment
Classic gaming refers to playing video games from earlier eras, typically those released before the mid-2000s.
The term encompasses arcade games, early console systems like the Atari 2600 or Super Nintendo, and vintage PC games.
Enthusiasts collect original hardware, use emulators, or buy rereleases: I spent the weekend in classic gaming mode with my old NES.
What counts as "classic" shifts over time—games from the PlayStation 2 era now qualify for many players.
