child rights
Minors' legal entitlements
Child rights are the fundamental protections and entitlements owed to people under eighteen—rights to survival, education, healthcare, protection from abuse and exploitation, and participation in decisions affecting their lives.
The term gained prominence with the 1989 UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the most widely ratified human rights treaty.
Child rights advocates pushed for stronger labor protections.
