checked out

Left the hotel

Checked out means having left after settling accounts—you check out of a hotel when departing.

By extension, it describes someone mentally absent or disengaged: He's completely checked out during meetings.

The phrase also applies to items borrowed from libraries or stores: I checked out three books.

Someone who has checked out of a situation has stopped caring or participating.
