Century anniversary observances
Centenaries are hundred-year anniversaries or the celebrations marking them.
A nation's bicentenary is its two-hundredth birthday; a tricentenary its three-hundredth.
The singular centenary can also mean a period of one hundred years, though century is far more common for that sense.
The university planned elaborate festivities for its centenary.
