category five
Strongest storm rating
Category five designates the highest level on a rating scale, most commonly for hurricanes.
A category five hurricane has sustained winds of 157 mph or higher—catastrophic and capable of destroying buildings.
The term extends to other intensity scales and to informal hyperbole for anything extreme: That migraine was category five.
