catcalled

Street harassment victim

Catcalled is the past tense of catcall—to shout sexually suggestive or harassing comments at someone in public, typically directed by men at women passing on the street: She was catcalled by construction workers on her way to work.

The term originally referred to jeering noises made at performers, from the shrill sound of a cat's cry.
