castoffs
Things thrown away
Castoffs are things discarded or rejected as no longer useful or wanted.
The term often applies to clothing passed along after the original owner has finished with it: She dressed in her older sister's castoffs.
It extends to people who have been rejected or abandoned: a team built from castoffs nobody else wanted.
Also spelled cast-offs.
