carambole
Cue ball deflection
Carambole is a shot in billiards where the cue ball strikes two other balls in succession—the defining shot of carom billiards, which is played on a pocketless table.
The word also refers to the game itself.
In British usage, carambole sometimes means the star fruit, a yellow tropical fruit with a distinctive five-pointed cross-section when sliced.
