car keying
Deliberate vehicle damage
Car keying is the act of deliberately scratching a vehicle's paint with a key or similar sharp object.
It's a common form of vandalism, often motivated by personal grudges, road rage, or random malice: Someone keyed my car in the parking lot.
The damage can be expensive to repair and is difficult to prove without witnesses.
