cancellation fee
Withdrawal charge assessed
A cancellation fee is a charge imposed when someone backs out of a reservation, booking, or contract.
Hotels, airlines, and service providers use cancellation fees to offset lost revenue from no-shows: The hotel charged a $150 cancellation fee when we canceled the day before.
The fee typically increases the closer to the scheduled date you cancel.
