cabover

Driver-over-engine truck

A cabover is a truck or vehicle design where the cab sits directly over the engine rather than behind it.

This configuration allows for a shorter overall length and tighter turning radius, making cabovers common in delivery trucks and European semis.

American long-haul trucking once favored cabovers but has largely shifted to conventional designs with the engine in front: Those old Kenworth cabovers were hell on your back.
