cable shows
Non-network TV series
Television programs broadcast on cable networks rather than over-the-air channels.
Cable shows historically offered content too edgy, niche, or serialized for network television: HBO cable shows changed what TV could be.
The term persists even as streaming blurs the distinction between cable and other platforms.
