A burka is a loose outer garment worn by some Muslim women that covers the entire body, including a mesh screen over the eyes.
It is the most concealing form of Islamic dress, associated particularly with Afghanistan under Taliban rule.
Also spelled burqa.
The law banned burkas in public spaces.
