bumpstock
Rapid-fire rifle attachment
A bumpstock is a rifle accessory that uses recoil to help the shooter rapidly pull the trigger, allowing a semiautomatic weapon to fire at rates approaching fully automatic fire.
Bumpstocks gained notoriety after the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting and were subsequently banned in the United States, though the ban was struck down by the Supreme Court in 2024.
