bucklers
Handheld defensive rounds
Bucklers is the plural of buckler, a small round shield held by a grip or worn on the forearm.
Unlike larger shields, bucklers were light enough for quick defensive movements and often paired with swords in close combat: The fencing master taught them to fight with sword and buckler.
The word appears mostly in historical or fantasy contexts.
