brise
Airborne foot flutter
Brise is a ballet term for a jumping step in which the dancer beats the legs together in the air before landing.
The legs brush against each other mid-flight, creating the characteristic crossed or beaten effect.
From French for "broken," referring to the breaking action of the legs: The dancer executed a series of brises across the stage.
