breast pain
Mammary tissue discomfort
Breast pain is discomfort, tenderness, or aching in the breast tissue.
It affects people of all genders and has many causes—hormonal fluctuations, muscle strain, ill-fitting bras, or underlying conditions.
Cyclical breast pain recurs with menstrual cycles; noncyclical pain doesn't follow that pattern.
Most breast pain is benign, but persistent or severe cases warrant medical evaluation: She scheduled an appointment about her breast pain.
