cracked nipples
Breastfeeding mother's complaint
Cracked nipples are painful fissures or splits in the skin of the nipple, most commonly occurring during breastfeeding when improper latch or frequent nursing damages the delicate tissue.
The condition causes sharp pain during feeding and may bleed.
Cracked nipples can also result from chafing during exercise or from dry skin conditions.
