breadboarding
Temporary electronics assembly
Breadboarding is the practice of building an experimental electronic circuit on a breadboard—a reusable base with holes for inserting components and wires without soldering.
The term extends to any rough prototyping of a system before committing to permanent construction: We're still breadboarding the design.
The goal is to test whether something works before investing in final production.
