bow stance
Legs wide, angled
Bow stance is a fundamental position in martial arts where one leg extends forward with the knee bent while the rear leg remains straight, creating a stance that resembles a drawn bow.
Common in kung fu, taekwondo, and karate, it provides stability for forward strikes and blocks: Hold your bow stance lower to build leg strength.
Also called front stance or forward stance in some traditions.
