boomerang babies
Kids moving back
Boomerang babies are adult children who return to live with their parents after a period of independence, typically after college or a failed attempt at self-sufficiency.
The term evokes the Australian throwing weapon that curves back to its thrower.
With rent so high, boomerang babies are becoming the norm.
Also called boomerang kids.
