To bogart something is to selfishly keep it to oneself, especially when sharing is expected: Don't bogart the joint—pass it around.
The term comes from Humphrey Bogart's habit of letting cigarettes dangle from his lips in films.
Originally marijuana slang, it now applies to anything someone monopolizes: She's bogarting the remote.
