blessed souls
The saved ones
Blessed souls are the spirits of the dead who have achieved divine favor or salvation, particularly in Christian theology where they reside in heaven or a state of grace.
The phrase appears in religious contexts, prayers, and discussions of the afterlife: We pray for the blessed souls of the departed.
It can also be used more loosely for the fondly remembered dead.
