blast shields
Protective blast panels
Blast shields are protective barriers designed to absorb or deflect the force of explosions, shrapnel, or intense light.
They appear on military vehicles, in demolition work, and around industrial equipment.
In science fiction, blast shields often protect spacecraft windows or cockpits: Luke, lower your blast shields.
The term also applies to welding masks and other eye protection against bright flashes.
