birthright citizen
Citizen from birth
A birthright citizen is someone who holds citizenship by virtue of being born in a country, as opposed to acquiring it through naturalization.
In the United States, the Fourteenth Amendment guarantees citizenship to anyone born on American soil.
The term appears most often in debates over immigration policy: Birthright citizenship means the child of undocumented immigrants is automatically American.
