big daddies
Powerful male figures
Big daddies is the plural of big daddy, an affectionate or informal term for a father or father figure, or more broadly, a powerful man in charge of something: He's the big daddy of the local jazz scene.
The term can also refer to something impressively large or dominant of its kind: We ordered the big daddy of all steaks.
In the video game Bioshock, Big Daddies are hulking armored guardians.
