Suspended food cache
A bear bag is a bag of food and scented items hung from a tree branch while camping, keeping it out of reach of bears and other wildlife.
The technique involves suspending the bag high enough and far enough from the trunk that animals can't access it: We hoisted the bear bag before turning in for the night.
