Winged throwing weapon
A batarang is a bat-shaped throwing weapon used by Batman, combining "bat" with "boomerang." In the comics and films, Batman hurls batarangs to disarm opponents or trigger devices from a distance.
The term sometimes appears in discussions of fictional weaponry or as shorthand for any bat-themed gadget: He cosplayed with a full utility belt and foam batarangs.
