barrow-boy

Pushcart produce seller

A barrow-boy is a street vendor who sells goods from a barrow—a wheeled cart or handcart.

The term is chiefly British and evokes traditional market traders hawking fruit, vegetables, or other wares.

By extension, barrow-boy can describe someone with the loud, pushy manner associated with street selling: He had the charm of a barrow-boy.
