Four-wheeled horse-drawn

A barouche is a four-wheeled horse-drawn carriage with a collapsible hood, two double seats facing each other, and an outside seat for the driver.

Popular among the wealthy in the early nineteenth century, it appears frequently in period novels: They took a turn through the park in the barouche.
