bantamweights

Lightest fighting class

Bantamweights are boxers or wrestlers in one of the lighter weight classes, typically around 115-118 pounds in professional boxing.

The term comes from bantam, a small but spirited breed of chicken.

By extension, bantamweight describes anyone small but scrappy: The bantamweight senator punched above his weight in committee debates.
