back labor
Posterior birthing pain
Back labor is intense lower back pain during childbirth, caused when the baby's head presses against the mother's sacrum, typically because the baby is positioned face-up rather than face-down.
Unlike the more common abdominal contractions, back labor pain often persists between contractions and can make labor feel more exhausting.
She had terrible back labor and found relief only when on all fours.
Counterpressure, position changes, and warm compresses are common coping strategies.
