autobahn
Unrestricted speed road
An autobahn is a highway in a German-speaking country, particularly Germany's federal motorway system famous for having no general speed limit on many stretches.
The word is German for "car road." English speakers often use it with a sense of high-speed driving: He was doing 150 on the autobahn.
The plural is autobahns or autobahnen.
