audiovisual aids
Classroom presentation tools
Audiovisual aids are materials that use sound, images, or both to support teaching or presentations—films, slides, recordings, charts, and similar tools.
The term belongs to mid-twentieth-century educational jargon: The teacher wheeled in the audiovisual aids for the history lesson.
Now largely supplanted by digital equivalents, though the concept persists.
