audio book
Story you hear
An audio book is a recording of someone reading a book aloud.
Once distributed on cassette tapes and CDs, audio books now come primarily as digital downloads.
They range from simple single-narrator readings to full productions with different voice actors and sound effects: I listened to the audio book on my commute.
Also spelled audiobook.
