angle of elevation
Slope toward sky
The angle of elevation is the angle formed between a horizontal line and the line of sight when looking upward at an object.
A surveyor measuring the angle of elevation to a mountaintop, or a child calculating the trajectory to a treehouse—both measure how far above horizontal their gaze must rise.
The complement is angle of depression, measuring downward sight lines.
