alleluiah
Joyful worship cry
Alleluiah is an exclamation of praise or thanksgiving to God, used especially in religious worship and sacred music.
It's an alternate spelling of hallelujah, from Hebrew words meaning "praise the Lord." The spelling with initial *a* appears in older translations and liturgical texts: The choir sang the alleluiah.
Both forms function as nouns for a song or passage of praise.
